First Aid at Work – 3 Day Course

The course is designed to train delegates in both theoretical and practical aspects of First Aid to the standards required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Day One
  • Assembly and Introduction
  • Role of the First Aider
  • Recording Incidents
  • Communication, Casualty Care and Hygiene
  • Primary Survey
  • Secondary Survey
  • Casualty Movement
  • Circulatory Systems/Bleeding and Minor Injuries
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Shock and Fainting
  • Asthma and Hyperventilation
Day Two
  • Injuries to Bones and Supporting Tissue
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Eye Injuries
  • Choking
  • Unconscious Casualty
  • Head Injuries
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
  • Poisoning
  • Seizures
Day Three
  • Hypoxia and Chest Injuries
  • Heart Conditions
  • CPR
  • Regurgitation
 
In order to gain a certificate, delegates must attend all the course hours and pass the practical assessment.  An approved HSE First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for 3 years will be awarded to all successful delegates.
